Karlsruhe,May 21, 2026 – A few days after the launch of the Royal Pop by Swatch and Audemars Piguet, Chrono24, the world's leading online marketplace for luxury watches, is reporting the biggest demand event ever recorded for a Swatch collaboration on its marketplace. Daily requests at launch reached 2.9 times the MoonSwatch peak of March 2022.

The Royal Pop launched on 16 May 2026 in selected Swatch stores worldwide at a retail price of 385 euros for the Lépine models and 400 euros for the Savonnette models. Limited availability led to long queues in major cities and, in some locations, temporary store closures.
A new buyer base enters the market
The overwhelming majority of Royal Pop buyers on Chrono24 are new to the platform. The same pattern was visible during the MoonSwatch launch in 2022.
Balazs Ferenczi, Head of Brand Engagement at Chrono24: “What stands out is how many of the buyers are entering the watch market for the first time. Swatch has become the defining player in this field, first with Omega and the MoonSwatch, now with Audemars Piguet and the Royal Pop.”
The market is finding its level
Across several hundred Royal Pop transactions on Chrono24 in the first days, the average price stands at €1,440. Half of all sales fall between €1,200 and €1,400, and 80% sit between €1,100 and €1,850. Listings range from below €1,000 to well above €2,500.
Balazs Ferenczi: “Both listings and actual transactions still span a wide range. That is typical for the first days after a hype launch. In past launches, the spread has narrowed within a few weeks as the market converged on a stable level.”
What buyers are requesting
Demand across the eight Royal Pop variants is highly uneven. The black reference leads buyer requests by a clear margin, followed by the Pink and Turquoise variants. Together, these three account for the bulk of platform activity.
The most expensive variant in completed transactions to date is the white reference, which ranks only mid-table in request volume. The white variant is currently driving the top of the price range, while the black reference dominates overall buyer interest.

The halo effect: related models surge
A launch like the Royal Pop does not stay confined to the model itself. Compared to the average of the previous six months, Chrono24 sees a clear spillover onto the broader Swatch and Audemars Piguet universe:
- AP Royal Oak: demand up 40%
- MoonSwatch: demand up 422%
- Swatch x Blancpain Scuba Fifty Fathoms: demand up 472% (from a smaller base)
What stands out here is the Royal Oak figure. Buyer interest in a watch that sits at an entirely different price point is rising in parallel with the Royal Pop launch. The collaboration is not just generating attention for the entry-level piece. It is opening a door to the wider Audemars Piguet universe. The MoonSwatch and Scuba Fifty Fathoms numbers show the historical depth of Swatch collaborations: launches from 2022 and 2023 still react measurably to a 2026 event.
